You don't need to be a Brant For Nature member to attend our events and programs, but consider buying an annual membership if you're enjoying what we have to offer.
As always, please register for each event using the link provided. You will notice that our registration/liability form has been modified to ensure we are being diligent as an organization. One significant change is that every individual attending must register separately. And there is an added section for the registration of minors (under the age of 18).
Donations can be made in person at one of our events, or by e-transfer to: brantfornature@gmail.com
Suggested donation of $5 for non-members.
* Note: Some events may require an extra fee to help cover the cost of certain activities, which we will let you know ahead of time.

Grant Linney is an actively-retired outdoor and environmental educator who lives in Dundas. In 2024, Grant wrote Outdoor Magic: The Power of Nature Connection, a series of short essays on both his personal and professional experiences in nature. His thesis is simple: unless we repeatedly connect with our natural surroundings, we will lack the spark and drive to address our many pressing global issues. He is a strong and vocal advocate for both outdoor education and for fighting climate change. Grant’s book will be available for sale at the presentation.
The Annual Meeting (AM) for Brant For Nature will commence following the guest presentation, on this date.

Fould’s Tract (near Glen Morris),
William Van Hemessen has studied the natural history of southern Ontario for over 15 years. In 2024, he completed an inventory of the fungi of Brant County for his master's thesis at Western University. William is the editor of the Ontario Plant Press, the quarterly journal of the field botanists of Ontario, and has led dozens of field trips and plant identification workshops for the FBO and other organizations across Ontario.
Foulds Tract is a small but ecologically diverse woodlot owned by the Grand River Conservation Authority. The walk will focus on the spring ephemeral wildflowers in bloom in early May, but also on other plants, fungi, and insects. We will pay special attention to the rich web of relationships between wildflowers and other organisms.
